Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get started? Do I need anything to get started?

Nope. All you need is yourself. You can reach out however is convenient for you (phone call, text, email, or on the contact page here) and I’ll get back to you within 48-72 hours. I’m usually very good about responding; so if you haven’t heard from me, it’s possible my response went to spam. It’s always helpful to give me multiple forms on contacting you to be sure we actually get to connect!

Do you take insurance?

I wish it were feasible for me to take insurance, though sadly at this time it is not feasible. I can provide documentation, called Super Bills, which include everything you would need to submit to your insurance company in hopes of working toward your deductible. I hear families are typically able to accomplish this, though it depends on your carrier and plan.

How long does therapy last?

While I don’t have a way to predict precisely how long we might work together, I can say with confidence that I tend to work faster than many. I’m able to leverage my gently direct approach within evidenced based modalities (like CBT or ERP) often leading to shorter-term effective work. There’s many reasons long term therapy may not be feasible for people - logistical, financial or otherwise. I really do love the opportunity to collaborate on a longer term basis. I also love being able to provide families an effective intervention that meets the complicated needs of a busy life.

Whether it’s a few sessions, a few months, or a few years, I’d be honored to be in your corner as long as you need me (and when it feels like the right time to you, also helping you to feel confident that you don’t need me… because, I mean, that’s the point, right?).

When could we schedule?

Again, I wish I had the perfect answer for all of my clients. I often say scheduling is the trickiest bit of this work because it does feel like a Olympic sport carving out regular time in a busy schedule. Currently, I do not have after school or evening hours. I work on an internal waitlist, meaning I offer those spots to clients with whom I’m currently working before new clients. So we’d find a, hopefully, minimally disruptive time to meet (like a lunch hour, ‘special’ at school, etc.) and then I would let you know when a more ideal spot opens.
